
This annual NCAA Bowl Game hosts top teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Big 12 Conference for an exciting matchup in the Caesars Superdome. Since 1935, the Sugar Bowl Classic has hosted many of the best coaches, players, and teams in college football history. Fifty-one Hall of Fame coaches have paced the sidelines of the Sugar Bowl, while 19 Heisman Trophy winners and countless All-Americans have shown their skills in this New Orleans event.
The Sugar Bowl is held annually on either December 31 or January 1 – a perfect way to ring in the new year! This year’s game will be held on December 31, 2022.
The top two SEC and Big 12 teams will be finalized on December 4, 2022, when the top 25 teams of the College Football Playoffs are announced.
The major event surrounding the game is the Sugar Bowl Parade. The parade rolls the day before the game through the French Quarter along Decatur Street, beginning on Elysian Fields. The Parade is scheduled to pass the WDSU main stage on Decatur Street inside the Jax Brewery parking lot, where WDSU will set up for live coverage of the parade. The WDSU broadcast will also be available online for out-of-town fans to enjoy all the excitement.
