The Blue Bikes Bike Share program in New Orleans is a partnership between the City of New Orleans and Drop, and is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana.
All around the city, you’ll notice racks of blue bikes – and they’re a great way to get around the city. The bikes are affordable, align with the New Orleans transit system, and allow visitors and locals to get around the city in a new way! Blue Bikes return on September 1, 2021, with 500 new pedal-assisted electric bikes.
You can sign up for Blue Bikes via the official website or the Blue Bikes New Orleans mobile app. Tap "Scan" and scan the QR code on the handlebar. Remove the lock tether and secure it to the hook under your seat. Put on your helmet and enjoy the ride! To lock the bike, simply take the U-lock from the holster and lock it to a Blue Bikes rack.
Blue Bikes are installed all around the city, with locations ranging from Jackson Avenue in the Garden District all the way to St. Roch near the Bywater. Use the map on the Blue Bikes official site to find mapped out locations of bike hubs.
Pay as you go for 15 cents a minute plus $1 to unlock. You can purchase a blue bike monthly plan for $25 a month.
