Blue Bikes Bike Share
Hop on a blue bike and commute around the city like a local!
The Blue Bikes Bike Share program in New Orleans is a partnership between the City of New Orleans and Drop, and is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana.
All around the city, you’ll notice racks of blue bikes – and they’re a great way to get around the city. The bikes are affordable, align with the New Orleans transit system, and allow visitors and locals to get around the city in a convenient way. The Blue Bikes fleet is comprised of hundreds of pedal-assist e-bikes to get you from point A to point B in a breeze.

How It Works
You can sign up for Blue Bikes via the official website or the Blue Bikes New Orleans mobile app. Tap "Scan" and scan the QR code on the handlebar. Remove the lock tether and secure it to the hook under your seat. Put on your helmet and enjoy the ride! To end your ride, lock your bike at a bike rack. Use the tether to secure the bike to the rack and loop it over the lock. Secure the lock and then use the app to end your trip.

Where to Find Blue Bikes
Blue Bikes are installed all around the city, with locations ranging from Jackson Avenue in the Garden District all the way to St. Roch near the Bywater. Use the map on the Blue Bikes official site to find mapped out locations of bike hubs.
Cost
Pay as you go for 35 cents a minute plus $1 to unlock. You can purchase a blue bike monthly plan for $25 a month. Blue Bikes offers reduced fares for New Orleans residents who use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Medicaid.
Locking up your Blue Bike
Lock your Blue Bike at any Blue Bike Station in the network. Want to park closer to your destination? For a $2 convenience charge, Blue Bikes can be locked at any public rack or other appropriate bike parking space within our service area. Make sure to always lock the bikes to a fixed structure and end your ride in the app. Find more info on returning your Blue Bike here.
