New Orleans Military Reunions
Choose New Orleans for your military reunion. We're home to the National WWII Museum and the site of the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812.
New Orleans' 300 years of history is shaped by the involvement and contribution to many military campaigns and is the perfect setting for your upcoming military reunion. During the American Revolutionary War, New Orleans was a Spanish colonial city and supported the Americans with weapons, money and supplies. The Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812 was seen as a major victory for the Americans, protecting the American frontier from future British assaults. During the Civil War infamous pirates eluded Union blockades and used the marshes and bayous of Southern Louisiana as a trading network for the Confederates. The New Orleans inventor Andrew Higgins created the Higgins Boat, a game-changing transportation device that lead President Eisenhower to say "Andrew Higgins is the man who won the war for us" after the invasion of Normandy. Today, New Orleans is home to the National WWII Museum, which is consistently ranked as one of the best military museums in the Nation.
