WWOZ 90.7 FM is a volunteer-powered, listener supported community radio station broadcasting from the French Quarter. If you’re not in New Orleans, you can tune in online at WWOZ.org.
WWOZ volunteer show hosts play all the music of the Crescent City: jazz, blues, funk, R&B, swing, cajun/zydeco, and so much more. Show hosts haul their personal music collections to the station in bags full of CDs, vinyl and laptops. They carefully curate shows, sharing their passion and knowledge in a familiar way - making you feel like you’re right there in the same living room.
WWOZ is a regular destination for local musicians for interviews and live in-studio performances. In a typical year the stations broadcasts almost 200 live sets, featuring 800 local and national musicians, in our studios, in clubs, and at festival grounds around the city. And WWOZ is famous for its exclusive broadcast from the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
WWOZ is famous not just in New orleans, but around the world, as the best way to tune in to the real local music scene of the city where jazz was born.
