Taking to the water is one of the best ways to experience New Orleans these days. Here’s where you can rent a kayak or paddleboard for your next adventure.
The bayou is calling you! Located on the banks of Bayou St. John, kayak and paddleboard rentals are available through Bayou Paddlesports. Cruise alongside a family of ducks down one of New Orleans’ most famous waterways, or stop to do some yoga and let the bayou take you. We recommend making a reservation in advance and avoiding peak times, such as weekends.
For tours in New Orleans and the surrounding swamplands, New Orleans Kayak Swamp Tours is your go-to place. Be transported to the swamps of Honey Island, or stick around New Orleans and learn the history of Bayou St. John. Often secluded and pristine, with plenty of wildlife in the swamps, these tours are great for a single party or small group. Kayak rentals are also available if you’d like to explore your own path.
For an airboat swamp tour adventure, this tour group makes it easy to enjoy Louisiana’s wetlands. Be on the lookout for wild alligators, snakes, turtles, and racoons as you speed through 20,000 acres of swamp. Bookings are available online today.
Kayak-iti-Yat is located right on the banks of Bayou St. John. Take a four-hour guided paddle down the bayou and back, or choose to customize your paddle.
LOOP NOLA is located within City Park and has canoes and kayaks available for rent. Explore the lagoons and wildlife of the park with a one or three hour rental.
