On June 21-23, Mélange Dance Company commemorates the 51st anniversary of the deadliest fire in New Orleans history, when an arsonist set fire to The UpStairs Lounge, a popular French Quarter bar and safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community. Featuring dance, live music, and spoken word, the performance illuminates the lives of its patrons, honors its continuing spirit and relevancy, and reflects on the legacy that we must carry on in today’s world.
