Dishing Up Memories
On Friday, June 1, 2018, the Southern Food & Beverage Museum (SoFAB) is presenting a truly special dinner to salute the grand old days of stylish New Orleans dining. “Dishing Up Memories: A Dinner Tour of New Orleans Best Tastes on Historic China” features a 10-course menu crafted by acclaimed private Chef Kevin O’Brien.

Guests are invited to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience that is as tasteful on the palate as it is on the eyes. Dinner will be served on Kimberly Wooten Rosenberg’s exquisite collection of historic China, Crystal and Silver, from places like D.H. Holmes, The St. Charles Hotel, Fabacher’s, Solari’s, Glucks, the old Roosevelt Hotel, T. Pittari’s, Kolb’s, Top of the Mart, the Jung Hotel, the Pimsoll Club, LeRuth’s, Top of the Dome, the Grunewald, the Grand Hotel and the Playboy Club.

Along with a few other delicious surprises, fine wines will be presented with each course. Priced at $250 per guest (all-inclusive), the menu pays homage to some of the Crescent City’s most unique recipes – or as Chef O’Brien calls it, New Orleans’ “lost” recipes. Offerings include Chilled Louisiana Corn Soup with green Tabasco crème fraîche and Cajun caviar; Chef Goffredo Crabmeat Ravioli with peas and tarragon; Hickory Smoked Duck with beets, cauliflower, berries, Steen’s Cane Syrup; and Emeril’s Shrimp with rémoulade and avocado.

Hosted by Ms. Jon Kemp and Mr. John Reed, the event will take place from 6:30PM-8:30PM at the lovingly restored “Doll House” – formally, the “La Rionda-Correjolles House” – located in the French Quarter at 1218 Burgundy Street. All proceeds for Dishing Up Memories will benefit the Southern Food & Beverage Museum, while a portion of the ticket cost is tax-deductible.
