Support The Creative Industries Assembly this GiveNOLA Day!

NEW ORLEANS, La. — Today is the first day of Early Giving for GiveNOLADay! Please consider supporting The Creative Industries Assembly presented by CANO this Give Nola Day! "The Assembly" is a 30,000 sq. ft. creative hub located in the historic Ford Assembly Plant in Arabi, Louisiana. We are currently exhibiting work by over 80 regional artists, architects and cultural producers. Curated exhibition spaces include immersive installations and light-based work, experimental spaces, media, film, photography, works exploring cultural legacy, and architectural and design showcases.

Since the inception of the Creative Alliance of New Orleans, (CANO), the artists, creatives and supporters who founded it have been committed to helping our city and region better understand the impact and value of our creative arts and industries practitioners, organizations and businesses to the overall economy of our region. The creative industries sector is one of the top growth economic sectors worldwide. New Orleans has long been viewed as one of the leading creative centers in multiple disciplines including visual, performing, design, media, literary, and culinary arts. We have the brand. We just need to better support its development.

While New Orleans is globally recognized as a creative capital, artists and creative workers lack consistent infrastructure, space, and long-term support. Creative Industries Assembly was created to help change that by building a platform that connects creative work to economic opportunity. Your support during GiveNOLA Day helps turn creative potential into lasting economic opportunity for our city and region.

Donations:

  • support artist opportunities and visibility
  • sustain exhibitions and public programming
  • expand creative workforce development
  • provide educational programming for youth
  • strengthen long-term infrastructure for New Orleans’ creative economy

Over our 18 years, CANO has produced over 600 exhibitions and events to give our creatives greater exposure and support for their work. We accomplished this with extensive volunteer support. But we need greater financial resources to add staff, marketing materials, and research capacity. We hope our deeply cultural community will step up to support an effort we know will reap benefits for the entire economy and community of our region reaching far into the future. Please head to our GiveNOLA Day page here to support our work!
