Saturday Brunch Fare & Sunday Roast Now Available

 Since opening in March 2019, Jewel of the South co-owners Chris Hannah and Nick Detrich have been busy at work realizing the vision they had for the historic Creole cottage – a multi-story dining and drinking destination where locals and visitors can stop by for a cocktail and snack, an outdoor meal or a full culinary adventure. Now that the project is complete, the dynamic duo is thrilled to announce Weekend Brunch, available Saturdays and Sundays from 11AM to 2PM.

On Saturdays, guests can enjoy hearty brunch fare thoughtfully prepared by Executive Chef Philip Whitmarsh. Dishes reflect a southern sensibility with a modern British twist and include Eggs Florentine with collard pesto and English Muffin; Cured Salmon Crumpet with celeriac-creme fraiche remoulade and cress salad; Deviled Eggs with pretty herbs; a delectable British Bacon Bap with tomato ketchup; Trotter Baked Beans with crisp egg and soldiers; Potato Waffle with chicken cracklings and 10g caviar; and Eccles Cake with Cabot Clothbound aged cheddar. Of course, no brunch is complete without boozy offerings and barman Chris Hannah does not disappoint. Libations include Ponchatoula Cobbler – Manzanilla and PX sherry, strawberry and tarragon; Negus Blanc – white wine, rum and orange sherbet and Champagne Opportunities – six bubbly cocktails including a Champagne Julep.

On Sundays, diners can enjoy all of the Saturday brunch offerings, as well as a traditional British Sunday Roast. Priced at $27 per person and served individually or family-style, offerings rotate weekly but include dishes such roast leg of lamb, mustard carrots, buttered kale, potato roasties and Yorkshire pudding.

Jewel of the South is located at 1026 Saint Louis Street  in New Orleans. Dinner is served upstairs, and in the courtyard, nightly from 5:30PM – Midnight; Brunch is 11AM – 2PM Saturdays and Sundays.
