New Orleans, LA (November 13, 2014) - Instead of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Criollo Restaurant, located in the Hotel Monteleone, is spreading holiday cheer this season with a special five-course Reveillon dinner menu available Monday, December 1 - Thursday, December 25. The five-course Reveillon dinner menu features a choice of an appetizer, entrée and dessert along with set soup and salad courses.

"Offering a Reveillon dinner menu is one of the Hotel Monteleone's most treasured holiday traditions because it embodies what the holidays are all about - friends and families gathering together to share a meal, celebrate and give thanks for each other's company," said Kent Wasmuth, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hotel Monteleone.

The meal opens with a choice from the following three appetizers - a Hibiscus-Cured Gravlax with artichoke, goat cheese, potato terrine and stone ground sweet dill mustard; Mussels Pomodoro with red and yellow heirloom tomatoes, basil, vermouth and pecorino romano cheese; or Fricassee of Rabbit & Sweet Breads with maitake, white beech, yellow chanterelles, morel mushrooms and a hunters style sauce.
The second course features a Butternut Squash Soup with baked brie, white truffle butter and toasted brioche followed by a Watercress Bouquet Salad with marinated pumpkin & seeds, grape tomatoes and pecan tuile basket drizzled with champagne dressing.
The main course features a choice between four seasonal inspired dishes - Chapapeela Farms Duck Breast with fried livers, red currants and marsala gastrique; Beef Cheeks and Charred Sea Scallop with caramelized cauliflower, arrugula emulsion and a potato gallette; Coriander Crusted Veal Noissetes with seared foie gras, spiced chestnuts and a port wine reduction; or Shrimp and Mirliton Stuffed Snapper with jumbo lump crab, gulf shrimp, andouille sausage and a nantua sauce.
The evening ends on a sweet note with the option of either Bouche de Noel - a classic Yule log filled with a coffee and vanilla genoise, cocoa butter cream, raspberry & mango sauce - or Gateau Saint Honore with hazelnut profiteroles, valrhona chocolate mousse and candied berries.
