GUMBALL 3000

Gumball 3000 is a lifestyle brand and entertainment group, founded in 1999 by British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper.

In the early 2000s the Gumball 3000 rally became a bucket list event - televised on MTV and immortalised as a PlayStation video game. Over the following two decades the rally has evolved into one of the biggest automotive lifestyle brands and popular culture events in the world.

Each year, the 3,000km rally partners with Governments and corporate sponsors including the likes of Nike, Google, Vodafone and LVMH to host a weeklong festival of cars and music. The event attracts an international who’s who of participants driving everything from Bugattis to the Batmobile, generating global media attention and millions of fans to attend and follow the adventure online.

Every year's route is different, with the aim to unite people through the language of cars, music and popular culture. Previous routes have included San Francisco - Beijing (2008) (including an overnight stop in Pyongyang, North Korea), Miami to Ibiza (2014) and London to Tokyo (2018), often flying the entire cavalcade of cars and participants mid-rally as part of the extraordinary event.

Gumball 3000 participants and ambassadors include Lewis Hamilton, French Montana, David Hasselhoff, IShowSpeed, Tony Hawk, EVE, Afrojack, deadmau5, Idris Elba, the Sidemen, Usher & many more; as well as founders of some of today's biggest corporations including PayPal and Facebook.

The Gumball 3000 Group operates worldwide across the retail and entertainment industry, and was recently valued at $1bn.

THE GUMBALL 3000 FOUNDATION

The Gumball 3000 Foundation was launched in 2013 to support under-served youth through educational, recreational and infrastructure-based projects around the world. The mission of the Foundation is to give youth valuable opportunities in life, ensuring that future generations are invested in, and presented with, every occasion to be the best version of themselves.

To date, the Gumball 3000 Foundation has raised over $10m and supported thousands of youth through its initiatives worldwide.

Partners include The King's Trust, Laureus Sport for Good, The Skatepark Project (formerly the Tony Hawk Foundation), Football Beyond Borders & many more.

MAXIMILLION COOPER

Maximillion Cooper is a British entrepreneur, creative director, designer, art collector, philanthropist and founder of the Gumball 3000 lifestyle brand and entertainment group.

The son of renowned British abstract artist, Johnnie Cooper, during the nineties Maximillion attended the prestigious Central St. Martin’s School of Art studying Fashion Design alongside Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, and gained recognition appearing as a model in advertising campaigns for Giorgio Armani and Ralph Lauren; funding his escapade as an amateur racing driver.

Fascinated by popular culture, Cooper’s vision was to create a lifestyle brand by combining his passion for automobiles, music, fashion and adventure into a commercial entity - and thus the concept of Gumball 3000 was born. In 1999, Cooper invited friends to join him on a road trip driving 3000 miles across Europe - hosting glamorous parties throughout attended by friends including Kate Moss, Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue and Johnny Knoxville - this first rally rapidly gained notoriety, gracing the covers of GQ, FHM and Esquire as one of Cool Britannia’s must do events. The rally and brand has continued to grow each year into a global brand that celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2025.

Cooper has acted as guest creative director and designer for several brands within the automotive and fashion sectors including Puma, adidas Originals, Kappa, LVMH and Fiat Abarth - and was recognised in The Top 50 Most Influential People in the Automotive Industry, and as one of the Top 10 automotive influencers by Esquire magazine (US).

In 2013, Cooper created The Gumball 3000 Foundation, established to utilise the influence of the Gumball alumni UHNW members to support youth based projects in low income communities, giving underprivileged youth opportunities in life through investment into recreation, education and infrastructure. Cooper works closely with Laureus Sport for Good, The Skatepark Project (TSP) and The King's Trust amongst others.

The Gumball 3000 Group was recently valued at $1bn (Forbes) and includes live events, apparel and licensing divisions across mainstream and luxury sectors, retailing products in over 20,000 retail stores. Cooper remains hands-on overseeing the business as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and leads by his creative direction and audacious approach to business.

Cooper has five children and is married to US actress and Grammy winning rapper, Eve.
