Chef Nina Compton's Beloved New Orleans Gem to Host Special Anniversary Events

Since opening in June 2015 Compère Lapin, Chef Nina Compton's beloved New Orleans restaurant in the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery, has received critical acclaim including a rave review in The New York Times and "Best New Restaurants" nods by New Orleans Magazine and Times-Picayune. In celebration of its first year in business, Compère Lapin will host a special Anniversary prix fixe dinner on Wednesday, June 1st and a festive Anniversary brunch on Saturday, June 4, 2016.

"I can't believe it's been a year already, it's been such an incredible ride," says Compton. "We're so grateful to everyone that has supported us and are looking forward to year number two."

On Wednesday, June 1st, Compton will offer a special four course prix fixe dinner, available from 5:30PM - 7:30PM only. Priced at $65 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), the menu will feature Compère Lapin favorites including cold smoked tuna tartare with avocado and crispy bananas; curried goat with sweet potato gnocchi; the famed hot fire chicken (normally only available at lunch); and roasted banana zeppole with rum caramel. Optional wine pairing will be available for only $30.

Guests can also enjoy a special a la carte brunch on Saturday, June 4th. Available from 10:30AM - 2:30PM, diners can feast on dishes such as chicken and smoked mushroom hash with poached egg; coconut French toast with pecan-rum sauce; goat Bolognese with cavatelli and ricotta; and housemade beignets with a spiced chocolate sauce. For imbibers, savvy bar manager Abigail Gullo will whip up a boozy anniversary punch.
