Chef Stephen Stryjewski

Partner chef and co-owner of some of NOLA’s hottest restaurants

Award-winning chef and partner of the Link Restaurant Group, Chef Stephen Stryjewski continues to bring new and exciting cuisines to New Orleans. The Link Restaurant Group’s roster of award-winning restaurants includes Cochon, Cochon Butcher, Peche, Calcasieu, La Boulangerie and Gianna.

Chef Stephen Stryjewski grew up traveling the world as an “army brat.” He has traveled extensively through both Europe and the USA. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Stryjewski worked for many notable chefs and restaurants including Jamie Shannon at Commander's Palace.

In 2006, Stryjewski, along with business partner Donald Link, opened Cochon. One year later, it was a finalist for the James Beard Foundation award of “Best New Restaurant.” Cochon opened as a rustic Warehouse District canteen serving meat pies, fried livers, stew ham hocks, and rabbit and dumplings. Cochon focuses on traditional methods to create authentic flavors of Cajun country.  In 2016, the restaurant doubled in size but still remained true to its traditional southern Cajun dishes.

In 2014, Peche won the same James Beard Foundation award for “Best New Restaurant.”
Stryjewski was named James Beard Foundation “Best Chef of the South” in 2011, as well as being honored as Best Chef by New Orleans Magazine. Stryjewski and the Link Restaurant Group continue to open new and flavorful restaurants around the city, including Gianna. New Orleans can’t wait to see what new restaurant Chef Stephen Stryjewski opens next.

Stryjewski and Chef Donald Link also created the Link Stryjewski Foundation, which addresses violence, poverty and lack of quality education and job training for the youth of New Orleans.
