NOLA by Day: Fridays in New Orleans
How to Spend a Friday in New Orleans
Kick off the weekend in style by visiting a museum, dining out, and enjoying karaoke.
EAT AND DRINK
Spend a Friday morning waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee at Mojo Coffee House located on Freret Street in Uptown New Orleans. Their menu features coffees from drip to cold brew, specially made lemonades, mocktails, and teas. Enjoy the indoor and outside seating at Café Maspero, which serves both dinner and lunch. Looking for a fancy night out? Enjoy a table at GW Fins which serves great contemporary food and seafood, along with an excellent wine list. Enjoy happy hour at Superior Seafood, Broussard’s, or one these spots.
MUSEUMS AND GALLERY HOPPING
Looking for something to do during the day? Visit some of our best art museums, New Orleans Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and Algiers Folk Art Zone and Blues Museum. One can also visit art galleries such as Tresor Gallery which exhibits over 15 contemporary artists. Another art gallery is Barristers Gallery, which shows ethnographic and contemporary Louisiana folk and fine artists.
NIGHT OUT
Looking to end the night with some fun? Go to Cat’s Meow for some karaoke and their happy hour, Monday-Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Also, visit Bar Tonique for its craft cocktails, curated wines, craft beer, and a cocktail lounge. Enjoy and relax!
