Often times referred to as the “Hollywood of the South,” New Orleans plays a lead role in a number of beloved television shows, full-length films, documentaries and even animated movies.

One of the Crescent City’s many cameo performances comes from the 2017 box-office hit, Girls Trip. Starring Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Regina Hall, Girls Trip is all about sisterhood and adventure. What better place to film it than at the New Orleans ESSENCE Fest?

The Roosevelt Hotel

What girls trip is complete without a proper place to end your evenings filled with wacky shenanigans? Lodge like Queen Latifah and her crew and book your stay at the Roosevelt Hotel. Although the main shots of the hotel lobby and bar took place at the Hotel Monteleone and Carousel Bar, respectively, the lavish room the four friends stay in is actually in The Roosevelt. This property is conveniently located in the heart of the Central Business District, making navigate your time in town a breeze.
