Experience World-Class Dance in New Orleans
Immerse Yourself in Ballet and New Orleans’ Arts Scene
As a vibrant hub for everything from food to music and the fine and performing arts, the cultural arts scene in New Orleans is truly unmatched. In early 2025, New Orleans will welcome two of dance's most electrifying companies: the powerhouse Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ballet Hispánico. These extraordinary performances add another spectacular dimension to New Orleans' rich cultural landscape. We invite you to be a part of the celebration.
On February 1, Ballet Hispánico brings the premiere of “CARMEN.maquia,” a Picasso-inspired contemporary take on Bizet’s beloved classic by choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano. Then on March 21 & 22, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater celebrates 66 years with two different programs of new works and classics, including Ailey’s masterpiece, “Revelations,” performed on Program A. All performances are held at Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts and brought to you by the New Orleans Ballet Association.
Why not turn your trip to the ballet into a full New Orleans getaway by indulging in a luxury escape with pre- and post-theater dinner food and drinks, historic architecture, award-winning attractions, and world-class shopping? It’s all waiting for you in New Orleans. Explore even more below.
