The New Orleans Gold is a major league rugby team that was founded in 2017, the first for New Orleans. The team competes at the Gold Mine, also known as the Shrine on Airline.
The season usually takes place from February through May. The team has become a stand-out team for the South East– in 2019, five players were selected to play in the World Cup in Japan. Venture about 20 minutes from the French Quarter and get in on the action with their spectacular fan experience.
The NOLA Gold Foundationis a Corporate Social Responsibility platform for the team and seeks to introduce and develop youth rugby in New Orleans and the surrounding area. It also serves as an outreach program for at-risk youth. The foundation provides trained coaches and equipment to local youth sports programs.
