New Orleans hardly ever plays the fool. The exception is for its semi-pro soccer team, the Jesters. They play their home games in City Park's 5,000-seat Pan-American Stadium. As the world's most popular sport in a city with a large immigrant population, the stadium is always lively during games.
The Jesters' season runs from the end of May through the middle of July. A total of 16 games are played, eight of which are at home. There are single game tickets for sale, family packages and party packages that include pizza and drinks.
In addition to league matches, the Jesters host youth camps and clinics during the summer months and are very active in the youth soccer scene. Go to www.nolajesters.com to learn more.
