There’s never been a better time to embrace your creative side than now. Give yourself an escape from the everyday and discover a new skill, or reconnect with a love of painting you may have set aside. This fall, The Academy is offering nearly 100 classes designed to inspire artists of all ages and experience levels. From Advanced Figure Painting in Oil to hands-on Spoon Ring workshops, there’s something for everyone.

Faculty Exhibition this Weekend
The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts is proud to be home to a talented roster of nearly 40 local artists who share their knowledge, passion, and creative practice with students in our studios. Each year, we celebrate these artists and their work with our annual Faculty Exhibition. Join us this Saturday, September 5, from 5–7 PM at The Academy Gallery for the opening reception. The exhibition features work in a variety of mediums and is a great opportunity to meet our faculty and learn more about the artists behind our classes.
The opening reception is part of First Saturday Art Walk on Magazine Street and is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Artful Giving: A Night at The Academy, Honoring Jose-Maria Cundin
The Academy is thrilled to announce our second annual Artful Giving: A Night at the Academy on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
This year’s event will honor noted artist and long-term Academy supporter, Jose-Maria Cundin. The gala will showcase an exciting exhibition that will feature past works, as well as a new series of photographs that are inspired by the world-famous Italian artist Giorgio Morandi.
The evening will commence with a Patron Party in the Academy Gallery from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, featuring light refreshments, with sponsors and patrons enjoying exclusive early access to the exhibition. At 7pm, we will bring the party outside when live music takes center stage.
A Night at the Academy will support our exhibitions, scholarships, classes, workshops, and outreach. At the event, hop aboard and take a tour of the Academy on Wheels, our mobile art studio, to witness the experience that NOAFA now brings to local New Orleans public schools.
