Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans Announces Annual Buddy Walk

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Wednesday, October 21, 2026 — The Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans (DSAGNO) invites the community to its annual Buddy Walk on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Laketown in Kenner, Louisiana.

The annual Buddy Walk celebrates individuals with Down syndrome, promotes inclusion, and reinforces the message that everybody belongs! This family-friendly event brings together individuals with Down syndrome, their families, friends, and community supporters for a day of celebration, connection, and awareness.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities and entertainment, including a jambalaya cook-off, live music by the Top Cats, food, drinks, games, and the signature Buddy Walk. Families and supporters are encouraged to form teams and walk together in honor of their loved ones, demonstrating their commitment to acceptance, inclusion, and community support.

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans (DSAGNO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Through support services, advocacy, education, and community engagement, DSAGNO works to promote inclusion, independence, and opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential. The organization is committed to fostering a community built on acceptance, understanding, and respect while providing individuals and families with the resources and connections they need to thrive.
