What is your geaux-to stop for dinner and drinks in the city?

Depends on the neighborhood and what I’m looking for, but you can’t go wrong with going to Tito’s Ceviche & Pisco Bar or Baru Bistro & Tapas in Uptown/Magazine Street walk to Henry’s or Rendezvous for after drinks to play darts & pool. I love great dive bars!

The best month to visit New Orleans? Why?

I have two best months: May & October! May because there is Jazz Fest, great weather, crawfish season, great fishing, and there are so many other festivals to enjoy. The city is alive!

What are your top 5 must-do's for a first-time visitor to New Orleans?

  • Must walk around the Quarter: get chargrilled oysters at Mr. Ed’s on Bienville, visit Lafitte's Blacksmith for a purple drink, get beignets at Cafe Beignet or Cafe Du Monde
  • Get invited to a boil party (shrimp, crab, and/or crawfish)
  • Go out on Frenchman Street to watch some live music
  • Visit Lafayette Cemetery
  • Eat all the local seafood you can!

What is your favorite off-the-beaten-path place in New Orleans?

Royal Thai Bistreaux in Harahan best Thai spot in the city!

Who has the best happy hour in the city?

The Bombay Club: $6 cocktails and $4 small bites happy hour 4-7 pm Monday-Thursday and 1-7 pm Friday-Saturday. Also, Superior Seafood happy hour 4-6:30 pm oysters are only 50 cents a piece, $3 house wines and draft beer, and frozen drinks are large for the price of a small.
