ABOUT:

The Touro Synagogue begins its story in 1828. Touro Synagogue was the first Jewish temple started outside of the original colonies. The synagogue is located on St Charles Ave and is the home to the larger Jewish community of New Orleans. Once a year, the Temple hosts its "JAzz Fest Shabat" which has brought in artists like Kermit Ruffins and Trombone Shorty to devier jazzy takes of traditonal Jewish prayer songs.
