For almost 40 years, the New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio has been the largest facility of its kind in the South, providing FREE daily breathtaking demonstrations allowing visitors to engage with the artisans in the glass blowing arena, torchworking, printmaking, metal sculpture letterpress and sugar blowing studios. Twice featured on the NBC Today show for the TWO-HOUR hands on WALK-IN courses that let visitors design and make their own glass sculptures and blown glasses, or experience torch working by making a or glass sea-creature or glass beads. The studio also provides opportunities for hands on for classes in metal sculpture, copper enameling, printmaking and letterpress, complemented by sugar blowing and bookbinding classes. The New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio is ideal for hands on group receptions, team building, and special events to celebrate. The New Orleans GlassWorks & Printmaking Studio is located in the heart of the Arts District only 3 blocks downtown from the National World War II Museum. The spacious, sky-lit historic brick building houses a front room gallery which exhibits designs created by the local, New Orleans craftsmen and visiting, international artisans who work as a team in the adjoining, two-story working studios.
