Dinosaurchestra

Dinosaurchestra is the brainchild of trumpeter and vocalist Reid Poole, accompanied by a band of young musicians who cut their teeth on Frenchmen Street: Oliver Bonie on alto sax, trombonist Miles Lyons, bassist Nobu Ozaki, guitarist Brett Gardner, keyboardist Steve Detroy, and drummer Ronan Cowan. The group started out as a mostly trad and swing jazz band, but soon developed a broader, deeper sound that incorporates soul, funk, Caribbean, and straight-ahead jazz stylings. The group is popular on the festival circuit, and their newest album, “New Orleans Run,” includes a combination of originals and smartly-arranged covers.
