*Brice Miller *wears many hats in the New Orleans music landscape, most notably as a trumpeter and vocalist in several popular jazz bands, and also as a music educator and entrepreneur. The Grammy-nominated Miller was born in the Crescent City into a musical family; his father, Dwight Miller, played sax in the Original Pinstripe Brass Band, and the younger Miller played in the Olympia Kids Brass Band as well as with his father and in the Junior Pinstripe Brass Band, which eventually changed its name to the Mahogany Brass Band, with Brice Miller at the helm. Miller moved away from New Orleans after Katrina and earned a doctorate, but returned to the city in 2017 to found ArtsNOLA, an educational group. He gigs heavily with the trad jazz Mahogany Brass Band, as a trumpeter and vocalist with Delfeayo Marsalis’s Uptown Jazz Orchestra, second-lining for special events, and with his alter ego funk/trad jazz band, Ecirb Muller’s Twisted Dixie. His tune “I’m So New Orleans” is an anthem to the city.
