Lower 9 Food, Music & Community Resource Festival

A free festival celebrating the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, this first-time festival will feature live music, food trucks, activities for kids, and a resource fair facilitated by 40+ community organizations and businesses that support the historical Lower 9 community. This event is brought to you by Lower 9th Ward Homeownership Association (L9WHA) and Lower 9 Neighbood Association (L9WNA).

The festival will feature an array of local cuisine from local food truck vendors to allow participants to sample the tastes of New Orleans. Vendors include The Cooking Therapist, Beaucoup Eats, Paddy Daddy, Funkee Foodz, Danielle’s New Orleans Sno Balls, and others. The fest will also host a community resource fair with 40+ community resources including Aetna, Metropolitan Human Services District, Our Mammy’s, Urban Conservancy, Leona Tate Foundation, Water Wise Gulf South, and more! The kids zone will have activities sponsored by Whole Village Art Therapy and Aetna.

There will also be musical performances and appearances by Kermit Ruffins, Tonya Boyd Cannon, Tekrema Center for Arts and Culture, Da Truth Brass Band, the Dr. M.L.K. High School Band, and DJ PJ. The event will kick off with a second line with the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club 2022 King and Queen, Stooges Brass Band and community leaders.
