Longue Vue Family Equality Day

June 9, 2024

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Longue Vue’s 9th Annual Family Equality Day will take place Sunday, June 9 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Family Equality Day is a FREE Longue Vue Pride event that honors and recognizes families of all shapes, sizes, and identities, with a special focus on the LGBTQ+ community. This outdoor event is fun for all ages, complete with story time, dance performances, fan decorating, and a community resource fair. The day culminates in a children’s parade across Longue Vue’s beautiful 8- acre garden space.

“Family Equality Day is our largest event of the year, and I think that speaks to the needs of our community. There are many LGBTQ+ families in our city that are searching for resources and a way to connect with other families like them” says Deputy Director Jen Sharp. “Longue Vue’s Family Equality Day offers a safe space for LGBTQ+ families and youth to gather those resources while celebrating Pride alongside like-minded individuals. It’s really something special!”

The resource fair will feature a variety of local community partners, non-profits, and businesses offering free activities and support to attendees. While the event is free, preregistration is required. Limited parking will be available for $20, so rideshare and carpool are encouraged. Interested parties can register for the event on Longue Vue’s website here . Organizations interested in sponsorship or becoming a community partner can contact Longue Vue’s Deputy Director Jen Sharp.
