NEW ORLEANS’ ICONS FLOW TRIBE AND NORMAN ROBINSON TAKE
STAGE AT YLC ROLE MODEL AWARDS GALA

Regional Community Leaders Recognized at 33rd Annual Award Ceremony

New Orleans, LA (August 27, 2019) – As Young Leadership Council’s (YLC) 33rd Annual Role Model Awards Gala quickly approaches, YLC is pleased to announce that television’s Norman Robinson will join the event as the emcee, with local favorite Flow Tribe serving as the entertainment headliner of the evening.

Robinson, a retired journalist from New Orleans, was a fixture on WDSU, WWL, and WWVU beginning in the 1970s. His career was marked by his tough, tenacious and straight-forward interviewing style, which became nationally recognized. Robinson retired in 2014, and YLC is proud to have honored him as a member of the 1992 YLC Role Model class.

Following their acclaimed performance at the spring 2019 YLC Wednesdays at the Square concert series, YLC is thrilled to welcome Flow Tribe to the Role Model Awards Gala.  Flow Tribe’s unique musical offerings are a blend of Second Line brass and Cuban-Caribbean rhythms melding with R&B, soul, rock, and hip-hop. Their singular sound, which they describe as “backbone-cracking music,” is quintessential of the New Orleans’ influence on their styling. Flow Tribe is currently building Downman Sounds, a state-of-the-art studio in New Orleans, and are working on their upcoming two-part EP.
