(NEW ORLEANS) – May 4, 2020 – Windsor Court Hotel, in partnership with the Berger/Tiller family, is proud to announce a collaboration with Son of a Saint to provide more than 3,000 meals to families in need in the Greater New Orleans area.

Beginning tomorrow, May 5, Executive Chef Vlad Ahmadyarov and his team at Windsor Court will prepare individually packaged, family-style meals – large enough to feed groups of six – three days a week.

“We thought long and hard about what we could do to make a meaningful impact on the local community during these challenging times,” said Ralph Mahana, general manager of Windsor Court Hotel. “We know the need for food is great, and we have a very talented chef that is not cooking right now due to temporary closures of our restaurants by city mandate. With this in mind, coupled with our admiration of the great work Son of a Saint does within our community, the pieces really just fell into place.”

Son of a Saint will coordinate pick-up and delivery to the families, many of whom have been impacted by job loss and limitation of food resources due to COVID-19.

"Son of a Saint does so much to uplift, motivate and transform the lives of young men in our community through its mentor program, and its mission has more of an impact during this crisis than ever before," said Amanda Berger, Son of a Saint board member and development chair. "Our family is honored to partner with Windsor Court in supporting Son of a Saint's incredible efforts for its young men and their families."

Windsor Court has been a long-time supporter of Son of a Saint and its commitment to enhance the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional support, cultural enrichment and more.

"Son of a Saint is thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with our friends at Windsor Court Hotel," said Bivian “Sonny” Lee III, founder and CEO of Son of a Saint. “Our entire organization is grateful to the team at Windsor Court, led by General Manager Ralph Mahana, and to the Berger/Tiller family for facilitating this most recent collaboration. We held several of our earliest events at the Windsor Court, and to now work together to provide food security for our young men and their families during these most difficult times is both humbling and inspiring. Though we have a long way to go as we work through this critical time, this effort helps us significantly."

As an extension of this meal program, and in the midst of these challenging times, Windsor Court owners have also committed to providing 1,200 takeaway meals over the coming weeks to Windsor Court Hotel associates who have been affected by the unfortunate circumstances brought on by the pandemic.
