Windsor Court and Audubon Nature Institute Partner for Butterfly Tea
Hotel, Insectarium collaborate to offer one-of-a-kind experience
NEW ORLEANS, LA. (April 1, 2010) – Le Salon at the Windsor Court is famous for its traditional tea service. The highlight of the Audubon Insectarium is its room full of thousands of butterflies. Through a unique partnership, these two New Orleans features have combined for one unforgettable afternoon.
On April 17, Le Salon’s tea services will have special visitors from the Audubon Insectarium. Insectarium staff will bring butterflies in beautiful displays and live arthropods to show and discuss with guests. There will also be preserved specimens to view, and a Butterfly Picture memento to remember the special day.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Windsor Court for this exceptional event,” says Karyn Kearny, Senior Managing Director of Audubon Insectarium. “Having a tea party is an iconic childhood pastime. With our special visitors, we hope to make this experience magical for everyone involved.”
Traditional Windsor Court Tea will be served at 2 and 4:30 pm, and will include unlimited tea, tea sandwiches, scones and cream, and assorted sweets. The children’s menu, designed for children 5 years of age and younger, will also be available. It includes peanut butter and raspberry preserve sandwiches, scones, a chocolate dipped strawberry and a surprise from the chef. Le Salon will also create special butterfly-themed treats for the occasion.
“The Audubon Nature Institute is an integral part of children’s lives in the city, and we’re honored to be collaborating with them,” states David Teich, General Manager of the Windsor Court. “The Insectarium is a fantastic attraction, and it’s exciting to be bringing part of it into our hotel.”
Tea is $28 for adults and $17 for children. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 504.596.4773.
