NEW ORLEANS - August 14, 2014 - The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, will feature the life and times of one of the most extraordinary figures in American political history as Spud McConnell stars Friday, August 29, on-stage as Louisiana Gov. Huey P. Long in "The Kingfish."

Doors to the world-famous Blue Room open at 6:30 p.m., with the performance beginning at 7 p.m. pre-theatre dinner will be served in the Fountain Lounge featuring menu items of Chef de Cuisine Mark Majorie Jr.

McConnell has received national acclaim for his on-stage portrayals of legendary Louisiana politicians and eccentrics, including Long ("The Kingfish"), brother Earl K. Long ("Earl Long in Purgatory") and Ignatius J. Riley ("A Confederacy of Dunces"). He has also appeared in the hit television show "Roseanne."

General admission for the show is $65 per person, and VIP preferred seating is available for $80, both excluding tax.
