(NEW ORLEANS) - March 7, 2017 - To celebrate 40 years of service in New Orleans, The Country Club - nestled in the historic Bywater neighborhood - unveiled extensive upgrades following a year-long renovation process.

Among the changes is a complete revamp of the food and wine selections, spearheaded by Executive Chef Chris Barbato, formerly Chef de Cuisine at Commander's Palace. To complement the refined menu offerings, the interior designers of locally-owned Ferrand Design celebrated The Country Club's unique and lively culture by creating a sophisticated and colorful environment.

"We are excited to reintroduce The Country Club as a premier destination for locals and visitors to come together over good food, drinks and fun," said Bert McComas, General Manager of The Country Club. "We paid special attention during the renovation to ensure we kept everything people know and love about the Club, and complemented that with fresh, new upgrades to ensure we offer our customers a true oasis that they can't find anywhere else in the city."

Chef Barbato and his culinary team expertly curated a locally-inspired menu that speaks to Italian-French and Creole-Southern heritages, including everything from chateaubriand, hand rolled pasta and braised short ribs, to jumbo sea scallops, stone ground grits and Louisiana speckled trout. To enhance the menu, guests can choose from a selection of award-winning wines from the carefully curated new wine cellar and specialty crafted cocktails. Built circa 1884 as a historic Italianate Raised Center Hall Cottage, The Country Club is one of the grandest buildings in the neighborhood and serves as a gathering spot for all. Maintaining its original grandeur and references of local art, culture, design and bold personalities, the new design of the interior lends a subtle, satirical nod to the expected interiors of a typical Country Club. The interior now boasts hand-painted murals by notable local artist, Cindy Mathis, artwork by famed Louis St. Lewis, as well as custom lighting and furnishings, to offer unique, visual interest around every corner.

The Club's lush backyard is now complete with an outdoor grill and a new al fresco menu for guests to enjoy poolside. Additionally, the venue boasts its revered chilled and heated saltwater pool offering members and guests year-round swimming as well as a hot tub and sauna to enhance the ‘day-cation' experience.

The Country Club is located at 634 Louisa Street and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. For more information, news and updates on The Country Club, visit thecountryclubneworleans.com or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
