Co-founders Erin Buran and Scorch Inéz successfully started The Antidote Juice in 2019 as an extension of their community-focused health organization. After instantly gaining buzz and excitement within their local community, the duo is announcing their first brick-and-mortar juice bar this summer to build upon their success and expand the business. The Antidote Juice will be centrally located at 734 Union Street, New Orleans, LA 70130, prominently situated downtown.

The New Orleans community will recognize co-owners Buran and Inéz from The Next Sober Life, their thriving mentorship-based sobriety program. With a special focus on inclusivity, the organization aims to create an environment where the pursuit of whole body health and productivity is the center for people who are sober, sober-curious or sober-allies. Buran, who has a master’s degree from Tulane’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with an emphasis in community nutrition, met Inéz in 2016 and, soon after, the two began the framework of what would be The Next Sober Life. With a larger-than-life personality, locals know Inéz as a body-builder, sober coach and personal trainer, but this is a far cry from where he came from. Born in Belize City, Inéz moved to South Florida and grew up in unforgiving neighborhoods, finding his escape in the electronic rave scene. Looking to escape the grips of the pain pill epidemic that was rampant in South Florida, he moved to the French Quarter only to be sucked in to alcohol and drug abuse that is commonplace in the party lifestyle of Lower Decatur. While still surrounded by the party scene of the French Quarter, Inéz decided to take back the control of his life; he has been sober for six years and has never looked back. With the cycle of addiction behind him and a true underdog spirit, Inéz uses The Next Sober Life as the stepping stone for whole-body wellbeing. Over the years, Buran and Inéz have worked to destigmatize sobriety within their community by offering life and sober coaching, hosting sober happy hours open to non-drinkers and drinkers alike, developing an online course that leads patrons on a 40-day journey to a healthier lifestyle, and continuing to enjoy the vibrant nightlife offered by New Orleans, club sodas with lime in hand. Now, the duo will transform their appreciation and excitement for food as nourishment to open New Orleans’ newest juice bar.

With holistic health at its core, The Antidote Juice will boast organic juices that promote both mind-and-body wellness. The simplistic menu offers curated juices that are fresh, flavorful and complex, such as bestsellers including “Root and Fruit” (carrot, apple, beet, orange, lemon), “And Everything Nice” (green apple, celery, cucumber, parsley, lemon, ginger), and “Dr. Big Shot” (pineapple, cucumber, coconut water). In addition to cold-pressed, organic juices, The Antidote Juice also offers juice shots and multiday cleanses as alternatives. Finally, knowledgeable staff will be on-hand to advise customers on the best juices for desired effects, benefits and taste.

“It’s unbelievable to watch The Antidote Juice transform from a grassroots campaign to our very own brick-and-mortar store,” says Buran. “Health and wellness has played such a huge role in our journey to sobriety, and we’re excited to bring a taste of that to downtown New Orleans.”

In addition to the grab-and-go style juices that are available via counter-service, free bicycle delivery will be available to the French Quarter, Central Business District and Warehouse District.

The Antidote Juice will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. offering counter-service and free bicycle delivery upon opening. Stay tuned for the official grand opening details.
