Oak Street Poboy LooNEW ORLEANS (July 11th, 2024) – The Oak Street Merchants, Residents and Property Owners (OSMRPO), a 501c(3) charity, is excited to announce that the 16th Annual Oak Street Po-Boy Festival, presented by Tony Chachere’s, will take place on Sunday, October 27th, 2024 from 10A to 6P between the 8100-8700 blocks of Oak Street. This family-friendly event will once again host 40 food and beverage vendors, live music on multiple stages, Arts Market, Kids Zone, VIP Area, sponsor activations, opening parade, and a po-boy competition juried by celebrity judges.

THE MISSION CONTINUES: In collaboration with Son of a Saint, our 501(c)3 non-profit partner, a portion of all wristband sales goes to support their mission of transforming the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional support, development of life skills, exposure to constructive experiences and formation of positive, lasting peer-to-peer relationships. Additionally, the festival seeks to stimulate the Oak Street corridor between S. Carrollton Ave and Leake Avenue by improving its appearance and safety, preserving the historic integrity and local culture, and attracting, supporting, and promoting diverse, sustainable businesses. WHAT’S NEW: This year, the event will present the inside story of the origins of the po-boy, including a deeper dive into the New Orleans’ food culture, and feature the history of the Carrollton neighborhood that includes the Oak Street corridor.

The Oak Street Po-boy Festival maintains its status as one of the most unique and exciting events of the year. Each Fall,since 2007, New Orleanians and visitors have set aside a day to honor this humble and unique sandwich where upwards of 50,000 strong come to eat, drink, dance and shop.
