Team NOCVB is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!

New Orleans CVB Staff, Family and Friends are supporting this great cause in several ways this year. To date, we have raised over $1000.00 through various events such as "Wear Anything Wednesday's" the "Loose Change Container" placed near the vending machines in our employee breakroom and direct monetary contributions.

Additionally, Team NOCVB will be walking in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk being held Saturday, November 1, 2014. This event brings together millions of people in more than 300 communities nationwide to help finish the fight against breast cancer.

Thanks in part to the American Cancer Society, and individuals who have signed up to fundraise and have supported the cause, breast cancer death rates have dropped significantly over the last 20 years. In fact, women are 34 percent less likely to die from breast cancer today than they were in 1989. But, there is still a lot of work to done! A staggering in eight women in the United States alone will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
