Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Convenes in New Orleans Dec. 8-11

Almost 4,000 participants will attend workshops, plenary, and concurrent sessions on more than 150 topics that affect higher education during the 112th Annual Meeting of the Commission on Colleges (COC) of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The conference will include discussions on accreditation issues and a report on actions taken by SACS-COC regarding the membership status of several colleges and universities in the Southern region.
Participants attending the meeting will include presidents, other senior level administrators, and faculty representing almost 800 college and universities in 11 Southern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia) and Latin America.
Founded in 1895 and headquartered in Decatur, Georgia, the Southern Association is one of six regional accrediting bodies in the United States.
