The Downtown Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 24 will cause detours throughout the city from 3:00pm-7:00pm or until the parade has completely cleared all bus and streetcar lines. Sunday service schedules will be applied to all bus and streetcar lines. The full Rider Alert detailing all of the detours is attached and online at www.norta.com.
On Friday, November 25, all busses and streetcars will operate on Saturday service schedules. The Westbank bus line 106-Aurora will operate on its normal schedule.
Expect delays on all streetcar services before and after the Bayou Classic Football Game on Saturday, November 26, lasting approximately between 11:30am-1:30pm and 4:30pm-7pm.
The RTA suggests pre-purchasing a boarding pass, arriving to the stop early, and being courteous to other riders and patient with the increased need for service. An RTA 1-day Jazzy Pass is only $3 and is valid for unlimited rides and transfers on the entire RTA fleet for 24 hours. Or if attending the events on multiple days, try a 3-day Jazzy Pass for only $9 and valid for unlimited use in a consecutive 3-day period.
And now, it is easier than ever to purchase and store Jazzy Passes with RTA's GoMobile ticketing application, available for free download in the Apple Store or Google Play. Ticket Vending Machines around the city, as well as Jazzy Pass retailers such as Walgreens and Unique Grocery, are two more accessible options for our New Orleans community to ride with RTA.
