Convention Sales
Sallee Pavlovich, Director of National Accounts & Tradeshows with the New Orleans CVB, Elaine Williams, Director of Sales for the New Orleans N. Morial Convention Center, and Paul Scott, General Manager of the Hilton New Orleans Riverside met overall objectives on the CVB's first Activation-Reactivation trip to Washington, DC, April 22nd to 23rd. Top active partnership meetings were held with long term clients for future growth, which included several highly successful meetings with accounts that have not met in New Orleans for a number of years. Objections were overcome and future opportunities are now a consideration for all accounts.
Communications
To mark the launch of New Orleans' summer tourism marketing campaign, the New Orleans CVB and NOTMC created an experiential event activation - Follow Your NOLA Food Truck - and took it on the Texas trail to Houston, Austin and Dallas. In addition to serving up more than 1,000 free samples of delicious New Orleans food in each city, the activation included branded giveaways, NOLA trip sweepstakes, cooking demonstrations by New Orleans chefs, performances from a Mardi Gras Indian and a Hot 8 Brass Band trumpeter, authentic cultural experiences and dynamic PR opportunities. You can check out the Follow Your NOLA compass on display in the CVB lobby.
