National Tourism Week
On Monday, May 5, approximately 40 CVB staff members and hospitality industry employees volunteered their time at Armstrong Park, home to Jazz in the Park and many cultural events. To kick off National Tourism Week, volunteers mulched, planted, pruned, raked and cleaned up this very popular area, leaving a lasting impression for visitors and locals alike.
Hundreds of front line workers, hospitality industry employees and elected officials joined costumed revelers and musicians in a parade down Poydras Street on May 6 to show what NEW ORLEANS WILL do for tourism and why tourism matters to our community.
With actor Bryan Batt as the MC, author Stefan Pollack as the keynote speaker and a number of champions and award winners honored, the 2014 National Tourism Week Business Expo and Luncheon at the New Orleans Marriott was one of the best to date. The more than 600 attendees were wowed by the successes of the industry and left enthusiastic for its future.
