WHY: W Hotels Worldwide, Geoffrey Roniger and Daphne Larkin are all releasing yoga practices that encourage people to exercise outside studio walls, wherever they are, whenever they want. The #PoseAnywhere session offers a sample of the types of yoga that people will experience and promotes these new offerings to the general public.
W Hotels Worldwide recently partnered with Tara Stiles, founder and owner of Strala yoga, to create and release "FIT with Tara Stiles," an exclusive series of four in-room yoga workouts that hotel guests can do while they're traveling.
Roniger created a subscription-based website called My YogaTogo that offers a variety of online yoga videos to encourage people to practice on their own time, for any duration of time in an effort to maintain consistency with their exercise habits. The videos range in length and style with new videos added every week to keep the practices fresh. The subscription costs $16/month with no contract requirement. For more information about My YogaToGo, visit www.myyogatogo.com.
Larkin recently released a yoga DVD, "Vinyasa Flow Yoga for Strength, Stability and Grace." Whether people are new to yoga or looking for inspiration to take their practice to the next level, the DVD offers nearly 3 hours of flows to choose from, allowing students to customize their home yoga practice at their own pace. The DVD is available at the event, on Amazon and online through Larkin's yoga studio, Sanctuary for Yoga, Body & Spirit (www.sanctuaryforyoga.com).
HOW: Anyone interested should RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Space is limited so people should arrive early to ensure a spot.
