NEW ORLEANS, LA – The popular New Orleans summer dining tradition continues at Palace Café with Temperature Lunch.  Returning for its 24th year (starting on Monday, May 28th) Temperature Lunch is available Monday-Friday, 11:30-2: 30 pm.  Two courses are priced at the previous day’s high temperature (85° on Monday=Tuesday’s $8.50 lunch) and are available through Labor Day.

“Temperature Lunch is synonymous with summer lunch. Locals love it and frequently dine with us more than once a week, in fact, we have a few guests we see daily” commented Palace Café co-owner, Dickie Brennan.  Guests have their choice of Soup du Jour or a Werlein Salad as a starter.  Using local, seasonal ingredients, Palace Café’s culinary team create entrées that change daily.

Past dishes include:

  • Blackened Gulf Drum with Cajun fried rice and chive aioli
  • Beef Bourguignon
  • New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp & Grits
  • Roasted Pork Loin, cauliflower puree, marsala sauce with a frisée salad

For daily temperature lunch specials follow Palace Café on Facebook and Instagram.

Also, on May 29th the Quarter just got happier with the return of the Dickie Brennan and Co. Happy Hour special: $5 after 5 pm. Palace Cafe, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, Bourbon House and Tableau all have $5 menus which include drinks and small plates. These menus are available weekdays between 5 and 7 pm and will run until September 3rd. Menus vary depending on the restaurant and can be found on the respective restaurant’s website, but sample items include mini beef wellingtons, duck wings, fried pickled okra with pepper jelly, as well as a classic daiquiri and manhattan.
