NEW ORLEANS - November 11, 2014 - The Ogden Museum of Southern Art's Center for Southern Craft & Design and Museum Store will host its annual holiday shopping event, the Art of Giving, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. This event is FREE and open to the public, with live music and a cash bar. Ogden Museum Members will receive complimentary white wine all night.

 

This year's Art of Giving features select artists and craftsmen from the Ogden Museum's Center for Southern Craft & Design and Museum Store including Mignon Faget; Kaki Foley of Tattered Design; Alexa Pulitzer; Blackbird Letterpress; David Bergeron Woodworks; Jess Leigh Jewels; RePurposing NOLA; Tchoup Industries; Mara Gold of Earth Reverie; Clare Crespo of Hurray Today; Claudia Lynch of Shoe Stories and more. Additionally, the Center for Southern Craft & Design's Art of the Cup & Teapot Spotlight, exhibited on the museum's third and fourth floors, will be available for viewing and offers a selection of ceramic cups and teapots, all for sale through the Museum Store.

The Ogden Museum is open Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on Thursdays from 6 - 8 p.m. for Ogden After Hours. Admission is FREE to Museum members and $10 for adults; $8 for students; teachers; military and seniors (65+); $5 for children (5-17) and FREE for children under 5. The Ogden Museum is FREE to Louisiana Residents on Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., courtesy of The Helis Foundation.


The Ogden Museum is closed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Lundi Gras, Mardi Gras, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
