9th- Honey Island Swamp at Ogden After Hours (6-8pm)

Join Honey Island Swamp Band for a special acoustic set. Deemed "Bayou Americana," by No Depression Magazine, their latest album, Demolition Day, was named one of the top 50 albums of 2016 by Offbeat. This latest album marks the 10-year anniversary of Honey Island Swamp Band, which formed in San Francisco via New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina displaced the founding members. With little hope of returning to their beloved city, the band channeled the blues and emotions of their circumstances to develop a soulful style and sound that critics have compared to legendary Blues-Roots-Rock Artists such as The Allman Brothers, Little Feat and The Band.

11th- Free Family Day: Art and Architecture (10am-2pm)

Free Family Day is a chance for families to come and explore the museum, participate in crafts and games and enjoy live music. Food and drinks are available for purchase, admission to the museum is free for all!

11th-Opening Reception: Waltzing the Muse: The Paintings of James Michalopoulos (6-8pm)

Come explore the fifth floor galleries and witness an incredible retrospective of one of New Orleans' most recognizable painters, while listening to the sounds of the Loose Marbles and enjoying cocktails sponsored by Old New Orleans Rum. Presenting sponsors for this exhibition are Henry and Pat Shane. Waltzing the Muse: The Paintings of James Michalopoulos is on view from March 1 to July 16.

16th- Carsie Blanton at Ogden After Hours (6-8pm)

Carsie Blanton is a singer/songwriter based in New Orleans. Her newest record, So Ferocious, is "a playful indie-pop record for smart, ferocious libertines". Her albums range from folk and pop (Buoy, 2009) through Americana and rock (Idiot Heart, 2012; Rude Remarks, 2013), to classic jazz (Not Old, Not New, 2014). When asked about the genre of So Ferocious, Carsie told DIME Magazine, "making music is like making love; if you only know one way to do it, you're not very good at it."
Carsie has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe since 2006, as a headliner and as support for Paul Simon, The Wood Brothers, The Weepies, Shawn Colvin and many more. Her live performances, which include material from every album, have been praised for their wit, humor, and captivating charm.

Ogden After Hours is a weekly entertainment series featuring Southern musicians, films and more. Each OAH includes an art activity for kids in our Education Gallery, a cash-bar and our galleries are open for viewing. OAH is free for museum members and $13.50 for guests.

18th- Southern Art Southern Stories: A Room of Wonders by Sergio Ruzzier (10am-12pm)

Following story time in the Education Gallery, museum educators will guide young visitors (and a caregiver) on a museum exploration, focusing on themes and ideas presented in the book. Afterwards, all are invited to create their own works of art inspired by what was seen and discussed.
For students ages 4-7 and a caregiver

23rd -Bob Malone at Ogden After Hours (6-8pm)

Bob Malone has toured the world as a solo artist for two decades and has played keyboards with rock legend John Fogerty since 2011. Classically trained, with a degree in jazz, and a lifetime playing rock & roll clubs, theatres, and arenas, Bob's sound is a one-of-a-kind hybrid of rock, blues, and New Orleans R&B, delivered with high-energy piano virtuosity and a voice all his own.

30th- Mia Borders at Ogden After Hours (6-8pm)

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mia Borders' original music genuinely reflects the oft-referenced melting pot of her hometown. Her catalogue of nine commercial releases spans from 2007's pop-rock-influenced "the ep" to 2016's R&B LP "Fever Dreams."
Heralded locally and nationally as one of New Orleans' best talents, Borders has been featured on AXS.tv's coverage of The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and has performed at such renowned venues as Essence Festival, Brazil's Bourbon Street Music Festival, House of Blues New Orleans, Tipitina's, Santa Cruz Blues Fest, Chattanooga's Night Fall, Voice of the Wetlands, Memphis' Levitt Shell, Wakarusa, Long's Park Amphitheater, 2012 Food & Wine Classic, and The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.
Her live shows are regularly praised as "deeply funky" (USA Today) and "confident and cool" (The Times-Picayune). Borders herself is "a chanteuse of the highest order," with "miles of style and charisma" (AXS.com). New Orleans' own Offbeat Magazine applauded Borders and her "great music and great intensity."
