New Orleans Tourism & New Orleans LGBT Hospitality Alliance (NOLHA) Pay Tribute
to the Victims of Pulse and the City of Orlando
A giant, white fleur-de-lis sculpture donated by Barry Kern of Kern Studios is to be signed by New Orleans residents and brought to Orlando
As a way of showing continued support and remembrance for the city of Orlando and the victims of the Pulse massacre that occurred on June 12, 2016, the members of NOLHA have secured a 5' tall white fleur-de-lis (courtesy of Kern Studio) that is being signed by locals in various locations and will be donated to Orlando later this summer along with this year's New Orleans Pride donation.
If any New Orleans residents would like to sign their names as a gesture of support for Orlando and its LGBTQ community, the artwork will be at the following dates/locations:
Saturday, July 23
Available to sign from 6:00 - 10:00pm
Oz Nightclub, 800 Bourbon Street
Sunday, July 24
Available to sign from 3:00 - 5:00pm
Phillip's Bar and Restaurant, 733 Cherokee St.
Monday, July 25 - Friday July 29
The monument will be in the Lobby of the Sheraton New Orleans
This gift and signage events are being organized by the New Orleans LGBT Hospitality Alliance (NOLHA), a group created to help build partnerships and increase the visibility and awareness of the local LGBT hospitality industry and its allies. NOLHA is managed by Communify, a New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation (NOTMC) partner agency focusing on LGBT travel to New Orleans.
