New Orleans, LA Sept 29, 2014 - New Orleans CityBusiness Magazine has announced that the New Orleans Hotel Collection is among its honorees for its 12th annual Best Places to Work special publication and event.
To compete, companies must submit extensive nomination forms disclosing workforce data such as salaries, benefits, retention levels and employee advancement. The details are reviewed by a panel of judges from the business publication. The next part of the process involves a survey of company employees to measure workplace culture. The rigorous process takes several months, and includes only the "best of the best" making it to final consideration.
"Like many of the other companies recognized by CityBusiness, we have long appreciated sense of creating an environment that our employees enjoy and want to return to every day," said Craig Hulford, Area General Manager. "Training and development, recognition, and benefits all play a major role in how we distinguish ourselves from other companies to recruit and retain the talent we need to stay competitive."
"This is an incredible recognition of the strong culture created over the past four years by the New Orleans Hotel Collection management team in cooperation with local owners" said Celeste Norris, Area Director of Human Resources who led the company's nomination efforts. "A really engaged front desk agent told me recently that she wants to continue to find ways to give the hotel guests experience like they've never had before. It's that type of attitude that has our associates doing back flips and the increase in guest scores reflects it."
CityBusiness judges selected 35 honorees in the large company category (more than 50 employees) and 15 honorees in the small business category (fewer than 50 employees).
The New Orleans Hotel Collection is among the 35 "best" large companies, with 7 hotels and more than 500 employees. The New Orleans Hotel Collection is one of only two hotel companies from a field of more than 150 hotels in the entire city selected for the honor.
The New Orleans Hotel Collection will be honored at an awards event at noon Friday, Dec. 5, at the Hyatt Regency. The top three large and small companies will be announced at the event.
The New Orleans Hotel Collection and other honorees will be profiled in the Best Places to Work special publication that will be part of the Dec. 12 issue of CityBusiness and distributed at the event.
