New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau Recognized for
Excellence by Meeting Professional Customers
Subscribers of Insurance & Financial Meetings Management cite the New Orleans CVB for excellence among 11 national CVBs while Meetings & Conventions magazine recognizes the New Orleans CVB for the 27th consecutive year

NEW ORLEANS –Oct. 21, 2010–The New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has been recognized by two major meeting publications and meeting professionals for outstanding client service.

Meetings & Conventions (M&C) magazine subscribers awarded the New Orleans CVB with the 2010 Gold Service Award. The magazine has recognized New Orleans with this award consistently since 1984, making 2010 the 27th consecutive time that New Orleans has earned the Gold Service status. Winners are chosen by M&C’s readers, the industry’s most important critics – meeting planners, who rely on their overall industry expertise to nominate and select 85 domestic and international CVBs. M&C, which began printing monthly issues in 1965, assists meeting and event planners in corporations, associations, incentive houses and independent planning companies by offering in-depth features, informative columns, destination insights and news analysis.

In addition, Insurance & Financial Meetings Management announced that the New Orleans CVB is a 2010 winner of the World Class Award. This marks the third consecutive year New Orleans has been a recipient of the award, which was presented to hotels, resorts, conference centers and 10 other CVBs that achieve excellence in serving the meeting industry. More than 1,200 subscribers voted the New Orleans CVB as a recipient of the 2010 World Class Award. Insurance & Financial Meetings Management is published by Coastal Communications Corporation and is distributed to executives and meeting professionals of insurance and financial services companies.

“From customizing attendance-building tools, personalizing green meeting and emergency plans, to coordinating corporate social responsibility projects, the New Orleans CVB includes a staff of award-winning sales, service and public relations professionals working directly with planners to offer a turn-key, one-stop-shop program with a no-hassle factor,” said Nikki Nicholson, vice president of Convention Sales for the New Orleans CVB. “We thank our clients for recognizing us with these prestigious honors and illustrating their confidence and satisfaction with the customer service they receive from the New Orleans CVB.”
