(New Orleans, Louisiana)---One week from today, The French Market Corporation and Market Umbrella will open a new weekly Crescent City Farmers Market that will be held each Wednesday throughout the year from 2:00-6:00 p.m. The market will be located in the Farmers Market "shed" of the historic French Market, under the covered pavilion between Governor Nicholls and Ursulines Streets.

Complimentary parking will be offered for up to 2 hours' parking in the French Market's Riverside Lot to shoppers who purchase items from Crescent City Farmers Market vendors.

Items to be offered will include local, seasonal produce, fresh Louisiana seafood, pastured meat, bread and baked goods, preserves and locally made grab-and-go items. Approximately 20 vendors are expected each week, with 25 confirmed for Opening Day (October 15th), including: A &K Citrus, Des Allemands Outlaw Catfish, Esses Foods,Girls Gone Vegan,Papa Tom's Stone Ground Mill, Louisiana Gourmet Produce, Iverstine Farms, Feliciana's Best Creamery, and Perrilloux Farms.

Credit/debit and SNAP are gladly accepted in exchange for market tokens issued at the welcome table operated by Market Umbrella staff.

The first 100 customers will receive complimentary Crescent City Farmers Market aprons that include the above logo showcasing the French Market Wednesday markets.

Cooking demonstrations coordinated and hosted by Southern Food and Beverage Museum will occur on the farmers market stage each Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. featuring a local chef creating a dish with market items.

October 29th: Chef Mike Friedman and Chef Greg Augarten, Pizza Delicious

Acoustic live music will be performed near the vendors from 3:00-5:45 p.m. each week.

October 29th:  Halloween with the Royal Dumaine & Hawaiians
