Brian Mottola: New Chef de Cuisine at Emeril Lagasse's NOLA Restaurant

Emeril's Homebase is pleased to announce that Brian Mottola has been named chef de cuisine of NOLA Restaurant, the critically acclaimed hip, casual eatery from celebrity chef/restauranteur Emeril Lagasse. NOLA has a long history of great Chefs to come through its doors and will continue this tradition with the addition of Chef Mottola, who has been an essential member of the Emeril's family of restaurants since 1997.

"Whenever we have the opportunity, the Emeril's organization always looks to promote talented individuals within the family, already familiar with the Emeril's culture," says Emeril's Homebase President, Eric Linquest "We're very excited to have Brian step into this role at NOLA Restaurant. He is an accomplished and talented chef and we know his skills and culinary style will be a great addition."

A native of New Jersey, Mottola's love for cooking came from watching his Italian-born mother prepare family meals. After graduating from Johnson & Wales in 1997, Mottola began working as a line cook for Chef Emeril's flagship restaurant, Emeril's New Orleans. In 1999, Mottola moved to Las Vegas for the opening of Delmonico Steakhouse in the Venetian Casino and Resort. Later, he moved to San Francisco to work under Chef Nancy Oakes at the prestigious restaurant, Boulevard. Mottola eventually moved back to New Jersey to work as a sous chef at Café Matisse before opening his own restaurant in honor of his grandfather. In 2008, he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and worked as sous chef at Carpe Diem under Chef Paul Ketterhagen. Mottola rejoined the Emeril's team in early 2012 for the opening of e2 emeril's eatery where he first served as sous chef and later, chef de cuisine. Mottola is assuming the position of chef de cuisine following the recent passing of former NOLA chef de cuisine Joshua Laskay.

At NOLA Restaurant, Chef Mottola will showcase his creative edge and culinary finesse, putting his own touch on the New New Orleans fare the restaurant is renowned for - a fusion of traditional Creole and Southern cuisine with a twist of ethnic flavors.

NOLA Restaurant is located at 534 St. Louis Street in the French Quarter. Lunch is served Thursday - Monday from 11:30 AM - 2 PM. Dinner is served nightly, 6 PM - 10 PM. For reservations, please call (504) 522-6652 or visit http://www.emerilsrestaurants.com/nola-restaurant.
