Louisiana Children's Museum's 18th Annual CHAIRish the Children "Looks to the Future"

NEW ORLEANS, August 2, 2016 - The Louisiana Children's Museum will open its big blue doors for the 18th Annual CHAIRish the Children fundraising event, Saturday, August 27, 2016. Party-goers will enjoy a fun and festive evening featuring gourmet cuisine and spirits, silent and live auctions, whimsical, one-of-a-kind chairs, the lively sounds of Satchfield Music, and more.

For the past 17 years, CHAIRish the Children proceeds have supported the Louisiana Children's Museum's educational programs and exhibits. The 2016 CHAIRish theme, "LCM Looks to the Future," invites guests to travel on a cosmic journey to celebrate the Museum's bright future and 30 years of play and learning for children and families.

"The Louisiana Children's Museum has played an important and meaningful role in the lives of children and families for 30 years," says Julia Bland, CEO of the Louisiana Children's Museum. "This milestone is a cause for celebration as we look to our future and a city and region that values and celebrates children, childhood and families."

The exclusive CHAIRish the Children Patron Party will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and feature delectable hors d'oeuvres compliments of Pêche Seafood Grill and signature cocktails that include the Cane Run Rum "Cosmic Blast" and Wheatley Vodka "Nuclear Eclipse."

The fun continues with CHAIRish the Children general admission at 8:00 p.m. with gourmet food from more than 20 New Orleans restaurants, cocktails, live music, and complimentary keepsake photos. The silent and live auctions will feature an array of items and packages including: works of art, jewelry, vacations, fun family outings, shopping, and one-of-a-kind chairs designed by Thomas A. Dutel, Frenchy, Shannon Kelley, Ellen Macomber, Posh Paint Pub, Nadia Ramadan, and Simon of New Orleans. Bidding on select auction items will begin on August 15 at www.501auctions.com/LCMChairish.

Guests can also enter the $2,000 Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry shopping spree raffle. Raffle tickets are $20 each or three raffle tickets for $50.
