Media Contact: Barkley Rafferty at 504.293.4726 or brafferty@longuevue.comLongue Vue House and Gardens' 12th Sentimental Journeys gala takes place on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 8 p.m. until midnight, with a patron reception preceding the party at 6:30 p.m. This year's event celebrates the beautiful Keukenhof spring garden, in Lisse, the Netherlands.

Sentimental Journeys dates back to 1936, when Longue Vue's founders Edith and Edgar Stern embarked on a 14-month trip around the world commemorating their 15th wedding anniversary and Edgar's 50th birthday. In 1995, Longue Vue introduced the benefit to support its educational and civic endeavors.

Since its inception, the benefit has raised over one million dollars that has helped Longue Vue fulfill its mission "to preserve and use the historical and artistic legacy of Longue Vue and its creators to educate and inspire people to pursue beauty and civic responsibility in their lives." Funds raised by Sentimental Journeys enable Longue Vue to serve as a center for youth and adult education, offering horticultural, science, preservation, and arts programming inspired by the historic site and founded in the needs of the community.

Sentimental Journeys 2015 is co-chaired by Ann Koppel Schreiner and Elizabeth LeBlanc and honors The Garden Study Club, a member of the Garden Club of America. "Sentimental Journeys is always a spectacular party, and this year promises to be truly exceptional," says co-chair Ann Schreiner. "We are looking forward to an elegant evening of fine food, drinks and one of a kind experiences! I am honored to be a part of an event to support the educational and cultural mission of Longue Vue House and Gardens."

The event will take place at the Old Metairie home of Danielle Kavanaugh. Guests will dine on world-class cuisine from Chef Michael Sichel of Galatoire's and enjoy an exquisite selection of libations. The evening culminates in an auction featuring art, antiques, jewelry and travel experiences - a perfect tribute to the Sterns' spirit of adventure and romance!

Tickets are $250, with a special price of $150 for guests 40 and under. Sponsorships and other inquiries can be directed to Jen Gick at 504.293.4723 or jgick@longuevue.com. Visit www.longuevue.com to purchase tickets or learn more about Longue Vue.
